Obituary of Megan Christina Berkmortel

Megan Christina Berkmortel

Peacefully with family by her side, Megan passed away at the age of 30. Megan was the cherished daughter of Deb and John Berkmortel. She was the loving sister of Kathryn (Danny), Luke, and Julie (Justin). Loving aunt of Dale, Macy, Lena, Wyatt, Callie and Henry. Megan was the granddaughter of Joanne (the late John) Berkmortel and Tina and Bill Vander Velden. Megan will be dearly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, caregivers, and friends.

Megan lived very happily at Participation House in London. She enjoyed a very full life with lots of support from those around her. Megan’s bright eyes, warm smile, and soft hands are what she was best known for. She was very empathetic and had a very gentle soul. Megan enjoyed camping, Disney World, aquariums, crying babies, and especially handsome men. Megan was very social. She loved going out with her friends and hosting parties. She was a volunteer at the Children’s Museum in London. Megan made many life-long friends along the way and will truly be missed by many.

Visitation will take place at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on Friday April 21st, 2023, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday April 22nd, 2023, at 11:00am at All Saints Roman Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart in the Fields.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to her caregivers both in our home growing up and at her Wistow house in London.  You helped Megan live every day to the fullest and created lasting life-long friendships that she loved. To the staff at LHSC-Victoria Hospital; your care extended beyond the job and we will always be thankful for the positive impact you made in Megan’s life.

In memory of Megan, donations to Participation House Foundation (PHSS Medical and Complex Care in Community) would be greatly appreciated.
