Obituary of John DeVries

Born September 3^rd , 1936 in EE, Friesland, The Netherlands and peacefully passed away on May 2^nd , 2023 in Strathroy, Ontario.

Predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Alice DeVries (2021). Greatly missed by his children, Marg (Gary), Ralph (Sharon), Janice (Albert), John (Andrea), and Martin (Annette), his 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. John will be missed by his brothers, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and many nephews, nieces, and friends.

John had a caring, loving, and generous spirit. He loved his Lord and church. He was a strong proponent of Christian Education. For the last 19 years John loved living at Trillium Village in Strathroy. He enjoyed woodshop and gardening. He also enjoyed the many years spent at their trailer at Lakewood Christian Campground.

A visitation will take place at Compass Community Church (405 Dury Lane, Strathroy)on May 7^th, 2023 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A funeral service will take place the following day at Compass Community Church on May 8^th, 2023 at 1:00pm. Interment to follow at Strathroy Cemetery.
