Obituary of Jean Gast

GAST, Jean passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at Strathmere Lodge, in her 89th year. Harriet Jean Kendall Parker was the beloved wife of Loren Gast for over 70 years, mother of Roger (Ruth) of Strathroy, David (Sharon) of London, and Karl (Linda) of Alvinston. She leaves behind eight grandchildren Paul (Laurie) Gast, Bryan (Kathy) Gast, Rob (Carina) Gast, Marty (Holly) Gast, Kent (Norma) Coleman, Karrie (Mark) Brown, Josh Gast, and Janene Gast, and fourteen great grandchildren - Jeffrey, Jillian and Victoria Gast, Zachary, Mathew and Grace Gast, Amanda and Kayleigh Gast, Kendra and Jackson Coleman, and Jasmine, Desyrea, Deante, and Keearra Brown. Jean will be fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews and will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. Jean was predeceased by son, Paul Stephen, who was taken in a fire which destroyed the family home in 1952, another son in infancy, four sisters - Islay Shaw, Mildred Parker, Hope Holt, Jessie Thomson, four brothers - Robert, Gordon, Rupert and Douglas Parker, and three brothers who died in infancy - Bruce, Jamie and Scott. Visitation will be at Denning Bros. Funeral Home, 32 Metcalfe W. in Strathroy on Thursday from 6-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church, 264 Princess in Strathroy on Friday, July 25, 2008 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in London. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
