Obituary of Ivan Herrington

After a number of medical issues, James Ivan Franklin Herrington passed away at home on July 1^st, 2023, at the age of 75. Ivan leaves behind his dear wife, Lynne Desjardine (nee Dolbear), two stepsons Jason Desjardine of London and Simon Desjardine of Grand Bend and step grandchildren James and Lexi Desjardine. Ivan will be greatly missed by dear friend Joanne Eastman (nee Quinn) and her family Brad, Bridget and Andrew of Arkona. His is survived by his sister-in-law Gail Herrington of Ancaster, 2 nieces Diana Herrington of Hamilton and Debra Herrington of Holland, Michigan and families. He will be fondly remembered by his cousin Al and Nancy Herrington of London. Predeceased by his first wife Marilyn (nee Richardson) (2004), brother Bill Herrington of Gravenhurst and parents Evert and Ivy Herrington of Arkona.

Ivan worked for Hensall Co-op for many years. He played fastball and pitched many games throughout Ontario. Ivan was also an avid golfer and learned to play darts with the Grand Bend League.

A visitation will take place at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on July 6^th, 2023 from 12:00pm until time of memorial service at 2:00pm. Reception to follow. An interment will take place at a later date at Arkona Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to a charity of choice or the Huron Shores United Church would be greatly appreciated.
