Both Raymond and Dorothy contributed to several Tales of our Town of the Strathroy & District Historical Society. Sincere sympathy to Dorothy and all the Wilson family on the passing of Raymond. Our connection started about 67 years ago when Dorothy came as teacher to SS#3, Metcalfe, Napier. She was my teacher for grades 6 & 7. Wilma would have been in grade 8. Our connection continued as Heather became a teacher for Wilma's children, and I got to know Gayle through our work at SMGH. I did not know Raymond well, but his reputation speaks well of him. May he rest in peace - he will be truly missed!

He and Dorothy were kind enough to take a young lawyer under their wings to help him learn the practical parts of municipal law whether it be random subdivisions , missing lots in Napier or issues with "big" barns .I will be forever grateful for Ray's calm counsel. Our family has had the pleasure to know the Wilson family for many years. When I had the privilege of serving on Metcalfe Council in the 1990’s, Raymond and Dorothy ran the township office. Our council never hesitated to seek input and guidance from Raymond on many issues, knowing how straightforward and experienced he was. Raymond was full of common sense and had a unique ability to break down what seemed like complicated issues into more simple “bite sized” challenges. Always a gentleman, always a positive comment to put forth, always a quiet leader. Raymond Wilson was one of a kind. Our most sincere condolences to all of the Wilson family.
