Obituary of Lee Demaray

After a difficult but brief battle with cancer, Lee Demaray passed away at the age of 83 at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Wednesday September 13, 2023. Lee was predeceased by his loving wife Anne, his brothers Don and Robert (Bob) and his brother-in-law Steve. He is survived by his son Michael, his sisters-in-law Marie, Olga and Mary as well as nieces and nephews Joy, Susan, Morgan, Craig, Bob and Stephen and many other extended family members.  

Lee was a fixture at the Bear Creek Golf and Country Club and at the Strathroy Legion. He spent much of his time on the golf course enjoying his retirement and playing cards with friends in the 19th hole and at the Legion. Other hobbies and pastimes included fishing and crosswords. He also loved to sing and to dance with Anne at parties and events. In his younger days he was involved in the community as a member and a past president of the Optimist Club of Strathroy.  

A graveside prayer and interment service will be held on Thursday September 21, 2023, at 11:00am at ALL SAINTS ROMAN CATHOLIC CEMETERY. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
A luncheon will take place immediately following the interment, at the Caradoc room at DENNING'S OF STRATHROY. All are welcome to follow for a time of reflection, food, and refreshments.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
