GORDYN, Kathryn Margaret "Kathy" (nee Scott)

With heavy hearts we as a family announce the passing of our wonderful Mom, Oma, Great-Oma, Sister, and Daughter at St. Joseph’s Hospice, with family at her side.

Kathryn Gordyn of Strathroy passed away, at the age of 80.  Predeceased by her husband Jack (Jacobus) Gordyn of 51 years (2016). Lovingly remembered by her children; Tom (Barb), Shari, Corrie (John) Van Heeswyk and Bram (Angela).  Proud and loving Oma to Justin, Kaitlin (Alex), Danielle (Travis), Alexandra, John Marc (McKenzie), Julianna, Bradley, Jacob, late Nicholas (2004) and Natalie; and the best Great-Oma to Evan, Leon, late Lily (2019), Benjamin, and Elijah.

Survived by her sisters; Charlene (Paul) and Janice; sisters-in-law Maria, Anneke, Marjorie (Brad), Rose; brothers-in-law Albert, Terry and Larry. Predeceased by her siblings-in-law Martin, Helena (John), Casey (Joanne), Adrianne and Janus. Greatly beloved by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Thomas Scott and Charlotte (Charlie).

Heartfelt thank you to St Elizabeth palliative care team, special thank you to nurse (NP) Phil and nurse Steve. To the amazing and dedicated nursing team, staff, and volunteers at St. Joseph’s Hospice of London.

Special thanks to the many community members who sent food to our mom and made sure she was comforted.

Visitation will be held on Sunday November 12, 2023, from 1:00pm until 3:00pm and 6:00pm until 8:00pm at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday November 13, 2023, at 11:00am at All Saints Roman Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Strathroy Cemetery followed by a reception at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Joseph’s Hospice London, would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to DENNING’S OF STRATHROY.
