Obituary of Doris McCormick

Peacefully surrounded by family at Sprucedale Care Centre on April 15, 2024, Doris Amelia McCormick passed away at the age of 91. Doris was the loving wife of the late Don McCormick (2002). She was the cherished mom of Joe (Laurie) McCormick and Jane (Ray) Cotter. Doris was the adored Granny of Tim (Lindsey) McCormick, Theresa McCormick (Omar El Akkad), Andrew McCormick (Mana Poordashe), and Martina Cotter. She was beloved great-Granny to Kaelyn and Kenna McCormick; and Dahlia and Idris El Akkad. Doris will be missed dearly by her sister-in-law Pat (Doug) Clarke. She was predeceased by her siblings. Doris will be missed by her extended family.

Doris was a proud volunteer with the St. Clair Conservation Area for many years. She took pride in rescuing and taking care of birds and wildlife, and loved birdwatching. Doris was well known in the Warwick community for being a school bus driver. She made many connections and special relationships throughout her time driving the school bus.

The family would like to thank the staff at Sprucedale Care Centre (Hickory Heights) for the kindness and compassion shown to Mom during the last several years. 

Visitation will be held at DENNING’S OF WATFORD on Friday April 19, 2024, from 1:00pm until 2:00pm. A memorial service will take place following visitation at the funeral home at 2:00pm. Reception to follow. A private family interment will take place at Warwick Cemetery.
