Dear *Van Liesout Family*
I am so saddened to hear of the passing of your dear *Mom* and *Oma*.
Riek and your Dad, John, were so good to my Mom, Marie Scholten- so many years ago.
They would visit us, with your whole family. We played baseball, on our lawn!
We also were invited to your place... once, when they slaughtered chickens.
We helped pluck the feathers, and brought some meat home, to put in the freezer!
Two special people remembered for their friendship and kindness.
On the occasions, I visited Brookeside, and saw your Mom- I loved a chance to say hello and give her a hug.
And I felt, she equally was happy to see me.
*Riek* was a beautiful woman in body, mind and soul.
I wish I had seen her again. I am sure all of Brookeside will miss her.

Dear Canadian family.
We send you all, our condolences.
Aunt Riek wa a important woman in my life.
I remember visiting here fore the first time. It must have bin in 1972 I guess.
After that time we visiting here several times more.
Last time was almost 6 years ago.
I will always remember here as a caring beautiful lady.
I would have lived it to join her 100 year birthday party.
But she didn’t make it.

Dear All,
Our condolences on the death of Aunt Riek. The last time I saw her in the Netherlands, we went to Ansterdam by train with my cousin Mary and Aunt Riek's grandchildren. The train was full, someone offered her a seat, but she said I should stay where I am, I still have young legs. Beautiful memory of a beautiful sweet woman.
