A life well lived. On July 20, 2024, Floyd Unger peacefully left this world. Born in Laird, Saskatchewan on December 13, 1931. Predeceased by his wife Shirley Joan Scott (2000), his best friend Elva Hodgins (2019), and ten brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his two remaining siblings Pete Unger and Cliff Unger of British Columbia. Survived by his children Floyd (Thach), Karen, And Laure. Missed by his favourite cousins Gwen and Tom.

Dad was a career Military man, volunteering for the Korean War at a young age. He spent over 20 years serving our country. Over the years, he shared many stories of growing up in Western Canada through the depression.  The Army provided the opportunity to travel the world; Korea and Japan as a young man and later with our mother all over Europe. He participated in a peacekeeping mission in Cyprus in the early 70’s. He shared these stories at every visit. He truly lived a full life.

Floyd passed peacefully in his own home just as he wished. In our hearts he is safe with mom and smiling down at us all.

A private family service will be held at a later date. In memory of Floyd, donations may be made to Smile Canada. Online condolences and donations may be made at www.strathroyfuneralhome.com.
