Obituary of Margaret Kennedy

It is with deep sadness that the family of Margaret Ann Kennedy (Higgs) announces her passing on October 31, 2024, in her 82nd year.

Margaret is survived by her son Rob (Colleen) Kennedy, daughter Kari Kennedy (the late Richard ~ 2022), and grandchildren Katrina (Chris) Jeromkin, Kameron Jeromkin, Brooke Kennedy, and Lauren Kennedy. She also leaves behind her beloved furry companion, Maisie, and her presence will be deeply missed in the supportive community she cherished.

Margaret had a passion for gardening, nurturing her plants from spring until late fall. As colder weather approached, she enjoyed retreating indoors to embrace a slower pace of life. She dedicated much of her time to creating lap blankets for local long-term care homes and, more recently, knitting countless poppies for the Remembrance Day service. Margaret drew great pleasure from her friends and the extended neighbourhood family that formed in her community, which provided her with strength and pride, allowing her to maintain her fiercely independent spirit.

The many visits, phone calls, sidewalk chats, and helping hands will always be appreciated by her family, as these moments kept her mind active and sharp. Margaret was truly a force of nature, and her absence will be profoundly felt by all who were fortunate to know her.

A Funeral Service for Margaret will be held at Denning’s of Strathroy, 32 Metcalfe St. W., on Thursday, November 7^th, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.  Visitation will be held one hour prior. 

Interment to follow in Strathroy Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, donations to Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
