Obituary of Jackie Harvey

Harvey, Jacqueline

Jackie lived a wonderful life full of love, adventure and laughter. She was born in 1949 in Toronto, ON to Tom and Hazel Conway and joined her two older twin sisters Diane and Joanne. She is survived by her husband Nick of 54 years, her two daughters Leigh (Chris) Fletcher, Kris (Trever) Lessard and her four grandchildren Cole, Chase, Bradey and Katie.

She met her best friend Nick in Sarnia in 1970 and shortly after they were married and shared a wonderful loving marriage living most of their life in Kincardine. Their time together was full and happy, spending time with their two girls and eventually their families, and enjoying travel, golf, cards and socializing with their many friends.

Jackie had a passion for life and laughter and excelled at many things including being a published author and a talented athlete at any sport she tried her hand at, especially golf, tennis, volleyball and pickle ball to mention just a few. Being such a social person, she was always surrounded by her family and many friends who loved to listen to music, dance and play bridge. With a wicked sense of humour, she often shared her hilarious stories and was seriously funny with all she crossed paths with.

She knew at the age of 10 that she wanted to be a teacher, and did not have one regret, teaching was her calling.  She taught at W. E Thompson and Elgin Market primary schools in Kincardine for most of her career and her students and staff she worked with adored her.

Her husband, 2 daughters, four grandchildren and 2 sons-in-law will miss her dearly along with the many close friends in her life.

Jackie passed away at her residence with love and family surrounding her on Thursday, November 14th, 2024, at the age of 75.  Cremation has taken place.  At Jackie’s request there will be a Private Celebration of Life held at a later date.  Interment will be held in Kincardine Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations to LHSC – Cancer Program will be acknowledged by the family.
