Obituary of Leila Matthews

Peacefully, surrounded by her family at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Friday June 8th, 2007. Leila Muriel (Waltham) Matthews of Kerwood in her 94th year. Predeceased by her husband Ken Matthews (1973). Loving mother of Bill and Marj Matthews of Kerwood, and Judy and Bob Dale of Poplar Hill. Beloved grandmother of Jeff and Lynda Matthews, Karen and Ian Hale, Mike and Susan Dale, Susan Matthews, and Mary Ann and Roland McAlpine. She cherished her great grandchildren Jenna and Katie Matthews, Zachary, Avery and Ben Hale, Matthew and Megan Findlay and Jack and Brad McAlpine. Dear sister of Helen Stinson of Rodney and Marie Ballantyne of Strathroy and sister-in-law of Merlene Moffatt and Fay Matthews. Special aunt to several nieces and nephews in the Waltham and Matthews families. Predeceased by her brothers Pat, Ross, Clare and Jack Waltham and sisters, Jean Wright and Irene Shortt. Visitation will be held at Denning Bros. Funeral Home 32 Metcalfe St. W., Strathroy on Monday June 11th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm where Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday June 12th at 1:00pm with Rev. Tom Anderson officiating. Interment, Strathroy Cemetery. Donations to Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation or St. Paul's Anglican Church Kerwood Memorial Fund would be appreciated by the family.
