Obituary of Sidney Welch

At Strathmere Lodge on Saturday February 21, 2004 in his 87th year. Sidney Ryder Welch passed away with family by his side. Predeceased by his loving wife Margaret (Ganly) (1994) and grandson Aaron (1975). Loving father of Vicki McCormick and her husband Alex of Sarnia. Loved grandfather of Jennifer of London, and Kelly Marlow (Eddie) of Orillia. Great grandfather of Emily Marlow. Brother of Ed of California, George of Melbourne and Doug of Strathroy. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Ted and Sterling. Visitation at the Denning Bros. Funeral Home, 32 Metcalfe St.W., Strathroy on Tuesday Feb. 24 from 1pm until time of complete funeral and committal service at 3pm with Rev. Bill Welch officiating. A Legion Memorial Service under direction of Legion Br. 116 Strathroy will be held in the funeral home following the funeral service. Sid served overseas during WWII with the Elgin Regiment. Interment Strathroy Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Strathroy Hospital Building Fund or Strathmere Lodge Memorial Fund.
