Obituary of Roland DeMers

Peacefully, after a brief yet valiant fight. Roland A. DeMers passed away at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, surrounded by love, on Thursday January 31, 2013 . Much loved partner and best friend of Carol McLellan (Ford). Devoted father to Marnie, Darryl (Debbie) and Rebecca . Also loved by Carol's children Katie Fry (Shaun), David and Kelsey (Derek Bron). Loving grandpa of Chloe, Chris, Josh, Alex, Noah, Jacob and Liam. Dearly missed and loved by his siblings: June Sinclair of Windsor, Robert and Susan of Toronto, Donald and Trudy of Windsor, Albert and Chris of Chicago, Paula Fraser and Len McFadden of Talbotville , Gary and Pat of Brampton, Larry and Gail of Woodstock, Elaine DeMers and Steve Walton of Windsor. Roland will fondly be remembered and sadly missed by the Ford family. He was a loving uncle to all his nieces and nephews and admired and respected by an abundance of friends. Cremation has taken place. Visitation for family and friends will be held at DENNING BROS. FUNERAL HOME LTD, 32 METCALFE ST, W., STRATHROY on Tuesday February 5, 2013 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm where a memorial funeral service will be held on Wednesday February 6, 2013 at 11:00 am with Father Lucio Couto officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated to one of Roland's favourite charities, The Make- A-Wish Foundation or the charity of your choice. A tree will be planted as a living memorial to Roland.
