Obituary of Shirley Twynstra

Peacefully in the presence of her family at Strathmere Lodge, Strathroy on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, Shirley Twynstra (Zeilmaker) of Strathroy, in her 80th year. Beloved wife of the late Henry Twynstra (July 2013) for 58 years. Loving mother of Julie Ann Barclay (Gerry), Brian (Kim), Eddy (Diane), and Peter (Julia). Cherished grandmother of Angela (Greg), Pamela (Jeff), Darryl (Jasna), Matthew (Kate), Kelly (Josh), Jenny (Jason), Sabrina (Brandon) and Scott. Proud great-grandmother of Luke, Hunter, Gracie, Ben and Jake. Predeceased by her parents Edward and Tina Zeilmaker (Devries) and her brother George (Anne) Zeilmaker. Dear sister-in-law of Shirley Vanderschaaf (late Sam), Peter Twynstra (Dinie), late Winnie McLachlan (Ken), Gertie Dieleman (Martin) and late John Twynstra. Predeceased by her parents-in-law Hilbrand and Sietske Twynstra and Henry's step mother Alie Twynstra. Visitation will be held at Denning Bros. Funeral Home, Strathroy on Friday from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be at Westmount Christian Reformed Church, 405 Drury Lane, on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Peter Hoytema officiating. Interment to follow in Strathroy Cemetery. In memory of Shirley, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society.
