Obituary of Jean Carter

It is with sadness that we say good-bye to Jean Carter - Mom, Grandmother, Friend. She died peacefully at Sprucedale Care Centre in the early morning hours of November 10, 2013. Jean was born April 7, 1921 in Glasgow, Scotland, the third of three girls. She is predeceased by her husband of 38 years, James Carter (1985), her dearest son, Alan (1961), grandson, Ted (2010) and her parents, Edward Barnes Macdonald and Elizabeth McIlwraith, her two sisters, Janette Black and Mary (May) Eldershaw. Jean is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth LeLacheur (& Thane) of Montague, Prince Edward Island; and sons, James (& Lorraine Bray) of Spruce Grove, Alberta, David (& Marcia) of Fairview, Prince Edward Island, Ian (& Joan) of Kerwood, Ontario and Andrew (& Isobel) of Fort McMurray, Alberta. Jean also loved and was loved by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by friends and her Sprucedale "family". Many thanks to Dr. J.N. Marshall and Sprucedale staff for their excellent care over the past nine years. Visitation will be held at Denning Bros. Funeral Home on Thursday, November 14th, 2013, from 2-4 and 7-9p.m. A private service will be held. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society, Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital and the Family Council at Sprucedale Care Centre.
