I'm so sorry to hear about Joe's passing. He was a one of a kind in a very good way. He was one of the individuals that made my four years with the Rockets so special and memorable. I always enjoyed heading up the stairs to the equipment room for a chat with Joe while grabbing a piece of gear. I know he will be missed by everyone who ever knew him and his presence will be greatly missed at the rink. My thoughts and prayers are with you guys during this difficult time.

Joe I met you 30 years ago. I'm not sure where but 25 years later I played ball with the outlaws, you could pitch like no other. I was lucky enough to be be your designated runner. I have never met a man so positive and because of that,he has made me a better person. Thanx Joe for all that you have taught me. My husband and I send our deepest sympathies.
Joe was a childhood friend in Kerwood. As I moved to BC after university and have made Vancouver Island my home, I lost touch with Joe. My brother Joe Woods has kept me informed.
It sounds a though he led a full and active life with many family members and friends.
Hockey was an activity on the Kerwood pond for all of the villages' kids.

Joe, thanks for taking Kent under your "wing" (a little Oriole humour)and Kate, for knitting his favourite toque! (It's now been taken across the country!). You both have made a lasting memory on Kent.

My sincere condolences to the Brooks family. Although I haven't seen Joe in years, as very young kids we used to run the streets of Kerwood, with Joe and my brothers, Jim and Bill Pollock, Joe Woods, and Judy Parker. Have some great pictures of that crowd. Peggy was our baby sitter about 60 years ago.

I had the pleasure of playing fastball with Joe when I was teenager, playing with guys older than I was. Joe was always a huge asset to our team.

Joe was a great supporter of any baseball and an even bigger supporter of Royals Baseball. Although our team fell just short of a gold medal this year in New Brunswick, his smile from ear to ear was priceless when we won silver. We greatly appreciate the fact that he made the trek to Fredericton to cheer us on and we will never forget that. Mike was always talking about his dad and for good reason. The brooks family should be proud to have had a husband and father like Joe. The Strathroy Royals will without a doubt miss seeing him at all our games.
The Strathroy Royals dedicate our 2016 Canadian National Baseball Championship Silver medal to Joe and the rest of the Brooks family...thanks for all your support.
