Obituary of Evelyn Ruth Welch

Peacefully at St Joseph’s Hospice, London, on November 24, 2016, in her 72nd year. Born in Hartland, NB to Lawrence and Marion Palmer, who predeceased her, as did her siblings Brenda and Allan. Sadly missed by Al, her husband of 49 years, and their children Shana (Gary), Desiree (Brad), and Adrian, and grandchildren Carly and Ryan. Also survived by her sister Wanda. Evelyn worked as a Registered Nurse for 40 years, loved the experience, and was particularly proud of her years in Emergency Rooms. After retirement, she joined the Royal Canadian Legion, and served on the executive committees of two of its branches. She loved country music, travel, movies and most of all, shopping. Special thanks to the staff of St Joseph’s for the care and support provided Evelyn and her family. Friends will be received on Sunday, November 27th from 7-9 pm at DENNINGS OF STRATHROY 519-245-1023 and on Monday, November 28th from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 12 pm with Major Lorraine Shea officiating. Interment to follow in Poplar Hill Cemetery. A Royal Canadian Legion Service will be held on Sunday at 6:30 pm. Refreshments will be served at the Strathroy Legion after the interment.
