Obituary of Donna Marie Campbell
Campbell, Donna Marie (nee Miller)
Peacefully, and with dignity, Donna passed away on Sunday, January 15th, 2017 surrounded by the love of her family, after a stubborn and courageous struggle. Donna was the beloved wife of Leslie for over 62 years, having started their married life together on Christmas Day 1954. Donna was the loving and proud mother of Lesley (Frank) Hollingsworth, Dan (late Terri) Campbell, Andy (Jackie) Campbell and Cathy (Dan) Giles. She was the adored and special Grandma and Great Grandma to Bobbi Hollingsworth, Jessi (Jason) Bettencourt and their son Niko and his soon to be born sister; Alex Campbell (Sydney Carroll); Ashley Campbell (Chris Pain) and their son due in April; Erin, Jason and Sarah Campbell; Andrea (Shane) Alderman and their children Brooklynn, Parks and Marius and Nathan Giles (Bekah Wilkie) and their son Noah.
Donna is survived by her brother Doug (Kathy) Miller, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Joyce Campbell, Elwood (Loretta) Campbell and Marilyn (Jim) Cooley and their families. She was predeceased by her parents Alvin (Jessie) Miller and father-in-law and mother-in-law Allen (Harriet) Campbell.
Donna had careers as a teacher and working at CIBC for many years; however, her proudest and greatest accomplishment was her family and home. Her passions of reading, knitting, crocheting, crafting, cooking and baking have been passed down to many of us.
As per Donna’s wishes cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on Thursday, January 19th, 2017 at 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Lung Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
“I am at peace; my soul is at rest. There is no need for tears, for with your love I was so blessed, for all those many years”.
