So sorry to hear About Johns' passing... I never went past the corner where the Pinetree restaurant was without thinking how much I missed it.. I can still taste and smell how good it was... John was the perfect host and we have such perfect memories!!! Condolences to all the family.

Sending you all love during this difficult time. Opa was beloved to us and we were so thankful were were able to meet him (and Oma) on our trips to Strathroy. He was a very proud man and I treasured getting to know him, laugh with him and take a piece of his artwork (the windmill) home with me! I will remember him mostly for his fantastic smile & warm heart. Sending love and hugs to you all...especially Oma.

Lieve ome Jan,
Als je zoveel liefde hebt gekend in je leven als u (nu zeg ik zeg toch maar weer even u:-), dan heb je een rijk een waardevol leven geleefd. Ik zal me u altijd blijven herinneren als een van mijn lievelingsooms, de grappenmaker, de geïnteresseerde, de levendigheid zelve. Op avontuur in Canada heb ik dat jaren geleden zelf mogen meemaken, uw gastvrijheid was groot.
