Obituary of Jake Haagsma

Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia; Jacob Haagsma passed away at the age of 88. Loving husband of 63 years to the late Gay Haagsma. Dear father of Anne (Steve) Van Veller, Arthur (Susan), John (Betty), Richard and Ken (Joanne) Haagsma. Cherished Pake of Brett (Courtney), Dana, Derek (Andrea), Adam (Jessica), David, Mark (Lisa), Michelle (Jordan), Brent, Samara (Kevin), Jared (Becky), Brianna (Nick), Lydia (Jeff), Aaron, Michael (Natalie) and Jacob. Great-grandfather to 13 wonderful great-grandchildren. Survived by his siblings Grace Louter, Tip Haagsma, Cecil Haagsma, Sheila Haagsma, Peter Haagsma and Minke Haagsma. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends.

Predeceased by his parents Auke and Ruth Haagsma, siblings Betty Elema, John Haagsma and George Haagsma.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, September 20th, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. at Providence United Reformed Church, 447 Second St., Strathroy, ON N7G 3H8; where a Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, September 21st, 2017 at 1 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to St, Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia or a Christian School of your choice.
