Obituary of Mary Isabel Todd

Passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018, at Sprucedale Care Centre, Strathroy, in her 81st year.  Loving and devoted wife of 57 years to the late Richard “Dick” (2017).  Dearly beloved Mom of Roberta “Bobbi” (Chris) Jacob of Waterloo, Lisa Todd of Strathroy, and predeceased by infant daughter Sheri Lyn (1964).  Dear Grandma and Pyjama Fairy of Clare and Alexander Jacob.  Mary will be missed by her Crawford cousins and the IMAC spouses. 

Mary was born and raised in Forest, Ontario, to Ivan and Madeleine Crawford.  After qualifying at Teachers’ College in London in 1958, she began her career teaching elementary school in Plympton.  She led a rich family life with her husband and daughters as long-term residents of Mount Brydges.  She was an active member of the Mount Brydges United Church and UCW, and also worked to support Middlesex Community Living.  She enjoyed reading, crafts, sewing and shopping.  She travelled with friends and family, including Caribbean and Mediterranean cruises, tours of England and Ireland, and countless RV adventures to Myrtle Beach, Jekyll Island and closer to home in Ontario.  In 2008 Mary and Dick moved to Twin Elm, Strathroy.  Mary was a kind friend to all who knew her, and was, in turn, blessed with many friends.  Thank you to all who visited her, especially Audrey, and to the warm and caring staff at Sprucedale.

A Celebration of Mary’s Life will be held at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on Wednesday, May 30th, 2018 at 1 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Middlesex Community Living or Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
