I was very sorry to hear of the passing of Fred. My condolences go out to his family, who I am sure will miss him very much. I spent many years working with him at Canada Trust where he welcomed me to his team and mentored me into the ways of auditing. I considered him to be a friend who was always upbeat and in good moods.
I regret that I was unable to attend the funeral home to bid him a proper farewell.
The world is a lesser place with his passing.

Our deepest sympathies to our wonderful friends Guy, Ruthie, and Rose. After meeting Fred and Rose a few years ago through Guy and Ruthanne. We became great friends . He was a true gentle man. What an honour to be part of his life. We have spent alot of good times with the four of them through horse racing and even went to that special cabin that he booked for the 6 of us to go to the brown jug one year. Fred we will miss your wonderful smile and yes, Rose and I will still bet on the 7 horse. We love you and will miss you! Keith and Connie McTaggart

I remember the privilege of having Fred as the auditor on one of our technology projects in the early 1990s at Canada Trust. He taught me a lot about making sure we got it right. He was a pleasure to work with, and a lovely man.

To Fred’s family:
I enjoyed time spent with Fred at Canada Trust; I used to tease him about all the “special coding” I did to fraudulently obtain money from Canada Trust. He would chuckle amiably at my jokes. I am sorry our paths didn’t cross more often over the years. He was a wonderful man who loved to share stories about his beloved horses.

So sad to hear of Fred's passing. I got to know him through the VON Transportation program, and he was one of my drivers. Always a smile, a wave, and an interesting story. My sympathy and condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed by all whose lives he has touched.

Guy, Ruth Ann and Rose, I am very sorry to hear that Fred has passed. I will miss seeing him as part of our group. He had a true love for horses and I will always remember my first meeting with him (and Rose) at the seminar at Western Fair last fall. He was truly a gentleman. Fred was looking over Freya Seelster at the sale last year. He will be with us in spirit. Jackie

I met Fred on the first real day of my work life, back in 1982. Actually, I think Fred was involved in the pre-interview that got me the job at Canada Trust. Fred was a mentor and guide to much of the first decade of my professional career, whether he knew it or not. He alway said he was not a "techie", as we delved into the bowels of the MVS Operating System for the IBM 3090 mainframes that drove Canada's largest Trust company. Nothing and nobody got past Fred. And yet everyone knew (and loved) Fred and Fred knew everyone. I recall, at a company curling tournament, Merv Lahn - Canada Trust CEO, wandering over to chat with "Freddie". Fred was a kind and gentle man. And he surely loved his horses! He will never be forgotten and will be greatly missed.
Heartfelt condolences to the family,

Fred is one of the kindest and friendliest individuals you could ever meet. We connected through horse racing and have many fond memories together, including a trip to the Little Brown Jug in Ohio. Fred will certainly be missed. Thoughts and prayers to the Haskell family.
