So sorry to read of Dr. Reid's passing. He was our physics teacher at North Lambton. He was such a smart person but could explain things so well and was patient. He was also very funny. Thinking of your family.

Ian was a beloved science colleague at Wallaceburg District Secondary School. He was a mentor and friend, always went out of his way to help, a beautiful smile. We enjoyed our time to Norma and Ian during visits to Mt. Brydges

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Ian. I have fond memories of talks with Ian from my youth. I recall having Ian over for a visit when he taught at the University of Western Ontario in the early 80's. I always admired his intellect and pleasant personality.
I am deeply sorry for your loss.

So sad to learn of Ian’s passing. He was a brilliant teacher, who was passionate about working with and teaching young minds. Ian was also special to me, because he shared his imagination and sense of humour as an actor in many of the musical comedies we produced at North Lambton SS. Ian and his sidekick Jim Moergeli were so zany on stage that we honoured them with “The Golden Ham” Award.
Ian will be greatly missed by our NLSS Family.

When I began attending Western in 1985 and was very homesick, visiting Uncle Ian every week in his office in the Engineering Building was a wonderful antidote and highlight to help me cope. Later overnight visits to Mt.Brydges at Norma and Uncle Ian’s were a wonderful refuge from school.
Uncle Ian epitomized the most loving, sensitive and caring Santa to his nieces and nephews and then to our children. When my daughter exhibited a Santa phobia, Uncle Ian invited us to his home before the Reid Christmas and carefully donned each part of his costume while continuing to talk to Emily so she could understand that it was really Uncle Ian inside the Santa suit. That was the kind of gentle loving and compassionate man Uncle Ian was. He will be deeply missed and forever loved. Love Lizzie, Tom and Emily ❤️

Ian was a great educator and colleague. He gave his time to all the extras at North Lambton. Wish he had been my teacher.
I remember he came to work during Snowmaggedon (Ontario folks remember this). He stayed in a hotel for 3 days in the same clothes, and didn't complain a bit when we got back to work.
A live well lived.

We were sorry to learn of Ian's passing, but relieved to know that his suffering is no more. We are sure that echos of "Yes Dear" are already sounding in the heavens, and an antique car is being worked on to carry both he and Norma through their next adventure. A wonderfully caring, considerate and extraordinarily brilliant man - we will remember Ian for pulling out ALL the toys when our boys came to visit, and for his extraordinary ability to renovate. And then renovate again. Ian was kind and gentle, understanding and compassionate - the perfect person to compliment our friend Norma. We will miss them both, and extend our condolences to all who loved both Ian and Norma.
