Obituary of Mel Lightfoot

LIGHTFOOT At the age of 78, with his family at his side, after a long journey full of challenges but with unbelievable optimism, Mel passed away at Strathmere Lodge, Strathroy on Sunday, December 29th, 2019. Lovingly remembered by his wife of 35 years, Brenda Lightfoot (Horlick). Dear father of Dennis, Carl (Renene) and Gord (Kelly), and brother of Donna (Ron), Linda (Edward) and brother in law Tom (Deb). Mel is survived by four grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Milton and Beryl Lightfoot and his in laws Edwin and Muriel Horlick. A special thanks to Maria, Mel's longtime PSW and Dr. Phil Vandewalle for their great care of Mel over the years. Also, a special thanks to the staff of Watford Quality Care and Arbor Glen, Strathmere Lodge. A private family gathering will take place on Thursday, January 2nd, 2019 at 1 pm with words of remembrance at 2 pm with a graveside service at a later date.
