On behalf of the Abma family, I wish to express our heartfelt condolences on the passing of your dad. Uncle John was a kind man who had a great sense of humour. It is heartwarming to listen to our mom tell us stories about your mom and dad and the rest of the Linker family. We were able to keep up to date on the goings on over there as he would frequently tell my mom what the family was doing. He was a great family man who loved his lively, fun-loving and adventurous family. Our thoughts are with you.

Our condolences, to the Linker family. Growing up there were many family gatherings and as much as Uncle John was a tease, I’ll always be his Margie-Ann. We visited him at Seasons last Family Day weekend, and having a revolving door of visitors, he was proud of the flower arrangements Aunt Helen made and having touches of her around him, a comfort. They’re together again. God Bless, from Ken & Margaret-Ann Giberson & family

I want to send John’s family my sincerest condolences. I met John while he lived at Seasons and enjoyed seeing him everyday I was in to work. I will never forget his hugs and the times we chuckled about him driving his scooter over my foot. Lol he felt so bad that I got a bigger hug from him.I will miss him. Debbie Gibson

Obviously John you will be missed by many, mostly the family of course. How could it be otherwise.
Memories! are what we have left now , how special they are!
Personally I will miss John because of a special bond that existed between John,Helen, Jean and I . We shared the same wedding anniversary . Now during these latter years we would mutually enjoy being refreshed at Helen and John's kitchen table . Wonderful times!
As retirement came into full swing , John's love for wildlife photography blossomed . He and I were fortunate to be able to travel with camera in hand to many places including to the USA . Following this hobby, as we travelled we would often share the scriptures together then usually ending up getting a Big Mac , "John's " favourite lunch.
Yes I will miss the many visits we have shared together at their house on the hillside . There Jean and I found warm hospitality and good company combined with wonderful view's overlooking their spacious acreage . Here John could get some great photos of birds either at the feeders on the deck or John's home made the bird houses ..
His creations along with Helen's garden attracted many summertime visitors . Both birds and people.
So, Thanks to John for helping create these lasting memories..

I struggle to see John on his own, so I trust you will not mind me sharing about both John and Helen, it seems like just yesterday we said goodbye to Helen.
I have many wonderful memories of John and Helen, John with his mischievous wit and fun, and Helen, you saw who she was immediately on seeing her smile - loving, kind, and gentle of spirit. I can see her smile and perhaps an eye-roll or 'look' at one of John's dry, witty comments - such a love they had! Too many thoughts flow together, but certainly both John and Helen, in so very many ways, made this world a better place through actions, words, deeds, and the sweet love they had for each other and their beautiful family! I can only imagine the celebration in Heaven.
Much love and sincere condolences to all the family, such a life to celebrate and remember, and deep is the loss.
