I can’t begin to imagine Christmas without Murray bringing me a box of his cookies. Forever in my mind Murray and Christmas will be tied together. He was the best of friends and the dearest of supporters. I miss him so, and I know that his family misses him even more.

My heart-felt condolence to the Metcalfe family. Memories of many positive interactions with Murray rise in my mind. He seemed genuinely interested in everyone and never too rushed to stop and share a few kind words. It was always a joy to cross paths with him. He will be deeply missed by the community.

Uncle Murray always had a twinkle in his eye and such a kind smile. I too recall visits to the bakery, and pool parties at the house with my sisters and cousins. He always took the time to talk to me about my education when growing up. We send our deepest condolences to Shelly, Sherry, Randy, Cynthia, and your families.
Hugs to you all,
Lisa (Kevin, Aidan, and Callum) East

My Uncle Murray was rather magical when I was growing up. I was addicted to the parkerhouse rolls Murray and Skip turned out at the Forest Home Bakery, they'd disappear as soon as they entered our house. And the orange twist doughnuts - honestly, I still think of them. Uncle Murray and Aunt Shirley hosted the most fun pool parties when we were kids, I have fond memories of a pool full of Anderson kids, with the adults off somewhere playing euchre. Uncle Murray always seemed to have joke to tell and a twinkle in his eye, as I recall. Nothing but fond memories - he will be missed!
Huge hugs to Shelley, Sherry, Randy, Cynthia and families! My condolences!!!
Rest in peace, Uncle Murray, and say hello to Aunt Shirley for me!

I’m so sorry to hear of Murray’s passing. I have such fond memories of working at the Bakery with the Metcalfe family. It wasn’t an easy job, but you learned how to work. Murray, Skip and Myrtle are responsible for the work ethic I have to this day. Treasure your memories. I was thinking of him this week as I decorated my tree.

Deepest condolences to all of Murrays family. I have found memories of the days I worked for the Metcalfe boys in the Bakery. Years later they came up north & stayed at my lodge for the week fishing. His memories will live on in many I'm sure.

I have fond memories of Uncle Murray. It was always fun to visit the bakery with my cousins on summer holidays and get to sample some amazing baked goods. I really miss those "Forest Home Bakery" donuts. Nowhere else has ever come close. There was camping at Ipperwash Beach. Murray had expert campfire cooking skills. Finally, the New Year's Eve tradition of family games night. Aunt Shirley and Uncle Murray played euchre with my folks while all the cousins played their own games. Our condolences to my cousins Shelley, Sherry, Randy and Cynthia, their spouses, their children and grandchildren. Bless you all as you come to terms with the loss of your dad.
Take Care,
Glenda Baldwin (Ken, Jamie, Jordan and Josh)

My condolences to your family! I only knew Murray briefly in the late '70's/early 80's when my siblings and I took piano lessons from Sherry, Shelley and Randy. I remember that for Christmas, each student would get a baked gingerbread man with icing face and body - and what a treat that was! I remember how delicious they were, and I have to admit that I have never tasted icing as good as what was on those gingerbread, or the cakes we used to get from the bakery. Wishing you all peace during this difficult time.
