I’m so shocked in seeing this and am sending my deepest condolences to the family, Today is a sad day for me in finding out my old work friend has passed away, The last time we spoke he was at my house for a bbq and a fire, we spoke of his up coming trips and previous adventures on his travels, everything to how he just avoided the Paris bombings to making new friends along the way as he toured the World, I worked with Casey for around 5 years in Lloydminster and we shared many conversations,
He was a really nice guy and I’ve missed him this past 1.5 years, the last night I seen him he said he was driving across Canada and going to newfoundland (My Home) so we spoke of places and things for him to see and do while there, he told me while there some of the best days were going to where the Vikings landed and dressing up as one and acting the part, and another day he randomly picked up a couple of hitch hikers and they partied in St john's, he told me he would be back in Canada for thanksgiving then off again until Christmas, I tried to reach him many times since that day but have always came up empty or with no reply’s from text, I was always wondering where you are! so today I thought I’d see if google would tell me he was somewhere in the world living it up like he talked about, I was very saddened when the first thing that came up was this page, he was so young and had so many plans and dreams for his life, now not only will i never know what happened to my friend, and what happened for him to pass so sudden and to hear anymore of his crazy stories, he will never be able to experience them. Rest in Peace my friend, where ever you are, may it be sitting on top of the Mountains of Peru, or in Valhalla with the Vikings I wont forget you my friend.

To Robert, Kathryn and the Engel family I would like to pass on my deepest condolences on the loss of Casey. I never really knew Casey myself; but I had the privilege to work at "The Real Canadian Superstore" in Strathroy with Kathryn (she worked in the bakery) and I worked as a cashier. If Casey was anything like his Mom he would do anything or give a helping hand with whatever you needed at that certain moment in time. Kathryn (always offered me a cookie whenever I was able to help her out by bringing back her bucket of returns especially at the end of the night.)
Kathryn and family I am deeply saddened but I wont be able to make it to the service, since I have to work at the store all day on Saturday, but wanted to let you know that I am thinking of your wonderful family at this dark moment in time and hoping that you will find the power/ strength to carry on and make sure that Casey's memories are always remembered and carried on everyday because he's still life's on in each and everyone of his love ones.
Once again my greatest condolences to the Engel family
From: Amanda Ewen (from the superstore co-worker when Kathryn worked there)

O Brother, Where Art Thou.
You saw the four corners of the earth, you were loved in all of them. You knew the kisses of nieces and hugs of nephews, pride of parents and the victories and defeats of the world. No longer will you touch time and space, but may you be received in the memories of our Lord. God wrote man into existence as a composer writes a symphony, creating both the time and place for us to play our tunes. Your note may have been cut short, but you will forever be remembered as a wonderful melody of those who heard you.
Goodbye my brother. Goodbye Casey.

Bob Kathy Sarah and John I am shocked and deeply saddened for your and the world's loss. Casey always wanted to make the world a better place. In grade 11 he convinced a large group of us to donate blood for no other reason then to help out someone else's loved one who might need it. Before then in grade 1 and 2 he would gather people to collect bugs to protect them from being stepped on. Later on in grades 6 to 8 Casey then had his mission to collect and protect frogs. I know he wanted to join in the Navy to do the very same thing which was to continue protecting, whether it be people bugs or frogs, he made the world a better place with his presence. I feel honored to call Casey a friend and will miss him dearly.
